Quality of life and early functional evaluation in direct-to-implant breast reconstruction after mastectomy: a comparative study between prepectoral versus dual-plane reconstruction

In this study, a cohort of 94 women who underwent subpectoral and prepectoral ADM-assisted breast reconstruction showed more positive functional and aesthetic outcomes when prepectoral surgery was performed. In particular, these patients had better upper limb function and a reduced need for personalised rehabilitation. They also reported less post-operative pain and were overall satisfied with the breast appearance and sexual well-being. Braxon® made possible the prepectoral breast reconstruction technique and is capable of remarkably improving the patients’ quality of life.
