Host integration of an acellular dermal matrix

Host integration of an acellular dermal matrix: Braxon® mesh in breast reconstruction
F.M. Iqbal, A. Bhatnagar, R. Vidya
Clinical Breast Cancer, 2016

This is the first study that demonstrates that Braxon® ADM successfully integrates both at the macroscopic and microscopic level in the patient’s tissue after prepectoral surgery. Assessments were performed 1 year post intervention. At the macroscopic evaluation, the implant appeared healthy with the infiltration of microcapillaries in the collagen matrix. Histological analysis confirmed vascularisation and revealed a high cellular density along the matrix’s collagen fibres. A satisfactory breast shape was maintained at 12 months. These data positively add to the known advantages that Braxon® ADM brings from the clinical and cosmetic point of view.
