WHAT TO DO AFTER THE SURGERY

Right after the surgery, it’s advisable to wear a surgical bra(your surgeon will indicate which one is the best for you and for how long you should wear it) and avoid too much movement. In some cases, the surgeon may consider immobilising your arm for a few days to minimise movement after surgery. In any case, it’s advisable to avoid heavy physical activity for 15 days after the surgery and jerky arm movements on the operated side. Moreover, it’s important to pay attention to personal hygiene and limit the contact between the operated parts and external agents, such as water, soap, towels, and any other material used for body care. Finally, if you go home with a wound drain still in place after surgery, you will need to have it checked frequently. If you notice any damage, you should tell your doctor immediately.
