In this study, a cohort of 94 women who underwent subpectoral and prepectoral ADM-assisted breast reconstruction showed more positive functional and aesthetic outcomes when prepectoral surgery was performed. In particular, patients had better upper limb function and a reduced need for rehabilitation. They also reported less post-operative pain and were overall satisfied with the breast appearance and sexual well-being subpectoral reconstruction.
When prepectoral ADM-assisted breast reconstruction is performed, the upper limb functionality is better preserved in patients, there is a lower need for rehabilitation, less post-operative pain. In addition, overall good satisfaction with breast appearance and sexual well-being compared to subpectoral ADM-aided surgery.
