AN ITALIAN INNOVATION
The over-the-muscle technique is made possible by a sheet of biological matrix, which can take a three-dimensional shape to accommodate the implant and protect it from direct contact with tissues. This way, the implant is hidden, thereby preventing any hard and unsightly periprosthetic capsule from forming. This technique is called Braxon®,an Italian project protected by an international patent. Once the implant is wrapped in the matrix, it can be fixed in the physiological site of the mammary gland over the pectoralis major muscle.
